2016 Aged Care National Antimicrobial Prescribing Survey

The 2016 Aged Care National Antimicrobial Prescribing Survey this year is to take place between Monday June 27th and Wednesday August 31st. All Australian residential aged care facilities and multipurpose health services are strongly encouraged to participate. If you have not already registered for NAPS, click onto ‘Register’ (right hand upper corner) on the NAPS website. Pertussis is endemic in Australia, with cyclic outbreaks typically occurring every 3 to 5 years.  In WA, weekly laboratory notifications of confirmed pertussis infections have been increasing throughout 2015, suggesting that another pertussis outbreak may be imminent.
