World Food Safety Day 2024

The World Health Organisation has designated 7 June 2024 as World Food Safety Day with the theme being “Food safety: prepare for the unexpected”.
Food safety events refer to situations that involve a potential or confirmed health risk associated with consuming food. These incidents may arise from natural events, food fraud, or accidents. While politicians, food safety authorities, farmers, and food business operators must work diligently to be ready to address food safety issues, consumers also have an active role to play.
