Infection Prevention Workshop for Residential Cleaning Services Staff

This workshop is designed for staff working in the residential care setting who are responsible for the delivery of environmental cleaning services.  The workshop is a must attend for cleaning staff, hospitality supervisors and managers.  The aim of the workshop is to equip those responsible for the delivery of cleaning services with the knowledge to apply the principles of infection prevention and control in the workplace.

• Apply a risk management approach to the residential care environment
• Describe the why, where, when and how of cleaning
• Identify 6 cleaning principles
• Discuss new cleaning technologies

The workshop will be presented by well-known Infection Prevention Consultant Megan Reilly.  Megan is a registered general nurse with a Certificate in Infection Control obtained from Fremantle Hospital (1988).  She obtained her Bachelor of Nursing at Edith Cowan University in 1999 and Masters in Health Science (Infection Control) at Griffith University in 2002 with first class honors.  In addition, Megan has a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, Immunisation Competency Certificate and is a credentialed infection control professional (CICP).

Megan has 25 years experience working in the area of infection prevention and management in the acute, community, residential and office-based practice health care setting.  Her business Hands-On Infection Control provides a variety of infection prevention consultancy, education and immunisation services to corporate, health and human service organisations in metropolitan, rural and remote Australia.
