DESCRIPTION:The ACIPC Foundations of Infection Prevention and Control  course provides a valuable pathway for further learning and is an important resource for those wishing to pursue a career as an Infection Control Professional. With 11 SELF PACED modules\,  Foundations allows participants to apply knowledge to their own practice and is a key component to achieving the ACIPC Primary Credential (CICP-P). The program has been designed to accommodate busy work schedules\, with a series of self-directed learning units supported by a structured online curriculum. Topics include environmental hygiene\, outbreak management\, employee health\, surveillance\, epidemiology and microbiology. This course reflects recent evidence\, guidelines and standards. The Course Coordinator will support students with live webinars phone and email support. New materials relating to SARS Cov 2\, and COVID-19 will be included in the course. \nThe next course will commence on the 4th November 2020.

DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed for staff working in the residential care setting who are responsible for the delivery of environmental cleaning services.  The workshop is a must attend for cleaning staff\, hospitality supervisors and managers.  The aim of the workshop is to equip those responsible for the delivery of cleaning services with the knowledge to apply the principles of infection prevention and control in the workplace. \nLEARNING OUTCOMES: \n\nUnderstand the chain of infection model and its application to cleaning\nApply a risk management approach to the residential care environment\nDescribe the why\, where\, when and how of cleaning\nIdentify 6 cleaning principles\nDiscuss new cleaning technologies\nList 2 methods to evaluate environmental cleanliness\nState key safety and health measures\n\nThe workshop will be presented by well-known Infection Prevention Consultant Megan Reilly.  Megan is a registered general nurse with a Certificate in Infection Control obtained from Fremantle Hospital (1988).  She obtained her Bachelor of Nursing at Edith Cowan University in 1999 and Masters in Health Science (Infection Control) at Griffith University in 2002 with first class honors.  In addition\, Megan has a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training\, Immunisation Competency Certificate and is a credentialed infection control professional (CICP). \nMegan has 25 years experience working in the area of infection prevention and management in the acute\, community\, residential and office-based practice health care setting.  Her business Hands-On Infection Control provides a variety of infection prevention consultancy\, education and immunisation services to corporate\, health and human service organisations in metropolitan\, rural and remote Australia. \nMegan enjoys sharing her passion for infection prevention and control in a meaningful and entertaining way to her audience.
